Transition from summer to fall brings new ways to assemble your outfits, not just plain airy t-shirts and shorts I was used to wearing in the summer. It is also time of tights, not only with skirts and dresses, but also with shorts. To add a new autumn piece to my wardrobe (I could wear with tights) I made myself a trench-dress. I found the pattern in the september issue of Burda (which surprisingly has some pretty wearable pieces this time). Since the dress is monochrome, I decided to add a little detail with ebmroidery on the collar and cuffs. Im getting really into modern embroidery!

This time I will not bore you with the construction method for the dress, but will go more into detail on embroidery. Because I knew it takes a long time to complete one, I smartly planned ahead and prepared a few motives I could try on the collar. After deciding which one was best I started working. In an hour it looked way to similar to a very bad school project, so I decided to make it easier, more geometric. Again, it looked pretty bad. So I was a bit pissed and started making little bals just randomly on the collar and after seeing it looks quite nice, I added two vintage tack arrows to complete the look. It took 3 hours, when it should take 5 minutes, but was still worth the effort. And because I didn’t want my plans to go to waste I made the final version in Illustrator so I can show you the failed versions.

I have drawn three schemes, so you can see how to make the arrow tack. It was originally used to reinforce garment openings, such as pockets, so you can see I have not used them propperly. But they still look nice. There are also some photos on how to make the little dots. I hope the bad quality is not too distracting, it was pretty dark when I shot them (and I have been scorned on that behalf, so it will not happen again). I also embroidered the dots on the cufs and the tack on the back.

Bigend v Zero History.

To say something about the weird colors in the photos: this indigo cotton I have used to make the dress is a pain to capture in a photograph. It just turns into these weird shades or produces rgb rainbows on the screen, something similar to what Mr.Bigend from Zero History is sporting.

No, potem pa delo seveda tudi super izpeljeta.
    Sem prav navdušena!
